Shri Sai Baba is revered as one of the greatest saints ever seen in India, endowed with unprecedented powers, and is worshipped as a God incarnate. (SAI meaning Sakshaat Ishwar) - GOD THE ABSOLUTE. He loves every soul irrespective of his/her vices or virtues. "Rama (the God of the Hindus) and Rahim (the God of the Mohammedans) are one and the same. Sai Baba is widely regarded as an incarnation of God, but he always said that he was an obedient servant of God. He never emulated others in any way, nor asked others to have something done for him. For him, Who saw the Lord in all movable and immovable things of this world, humility was the most proper thing. None he disregarded or disrespected; for he saw Narayan (Lord) in all beings, he never said, "I am God," but that he was a humble servant and he always remembered him and always uttered - "Allah Malik" (God is the sole proprietor or Owner).

Important Information

MAJOR FESTIVALS IN SHIRDI

The three main festivals in Shirdi are 1) SreeRamanavami (March/April), 2) Gurupoornima(July) and third imporant festival is Vijayadasami/Punyathidi(September/October) where saibaba leaves his mortal body and become immortal. In Shirdi these festivals are celebrated with great passion, verve and heartfulness. Thousands flock to bathe in the grace which seems to flow especially freely at such times. There is a programme of puja, music (bhajan), public parayana (reading of scriptures and devotional texts) and exuberant processions with the palanquin and the rath (chariot). The Samadhi Mandir remains open all night during one of these days, with the upper section of Dwarkamai being open the previous night, and there are all-night bhajan and qawali sessions at various locations around the village, including Lendi Gardens. Printed programmes with full details are available from the Sansthan. On the special atmosphere that prevails at such times, Sri Babuji has commented, "When there is a collective activity or endeavour, then it is easy for the love and the experience to sink into the heart. On ordinary days it is as if you have to sail with your oars and row, but on these days it is just like setting the sails and then letting yourself be happily carried along by the wind!"
